i've never, ever been a fan of letting babies cry to sleep. EVER! I did it a bit when Caden was around 6 months, it worked for a while, then crazy summer hit. With vacations and family around more, i just rocked him to sleep, it was just too crazy when he's in a new place and weird schedules, having to go through the crying each time was too much for me and I had time to rock him. I don't regret any moment of rocking my baby to sleep.
Now, with babysitting W, the sleep schedules are sometimes a little off and its seemingly more and more difficult to rock him to sleep. So, i decided to go through it again, so hard for both him and I. I despise each crying moment, I think most Mommies do.
Lord, help Caden to learn how to fall asleep quickly and just help me through it.

You know, it is hard to hear them cry, but seriously they get over it really quickly. I always did it earlier, and it doesn't last long at all. And it's not like I'd just let them scream for hours with no love - I go in every once in a while for a cuddle and a calm-down. It's to the point now that Elliot will wiggle and fuss and I'll realize that she's tired and I just go lay her in her crib and she snuggles right down to go to sleep. She rarely cries, and when she does it's only for a minute or two. It's awesome when they learn to put themselves to sleep. Good luck, and don't feel guilty!
You'll find too that when you end up with more than one kid it's harder to find time to snuggle them to sleep each night!
its funny, at night, we put him in his crib, he finds his cuddle spot and goes to sleep, he's more tired then i guess. just the naps, he's crying for less time already, so that's good news :)
That's great! It's amazing how adaptive kids are really - not that it doesn't make you feel any better when your little guy is crying for you!
