Alright, I did some reading on Lent. I've never participated in it, but after a little research, I see how beneficial it can be to one's prayer life.
There are varying degrees of fasting during lent. So, I've chosen to cut out a couple things. I eat quite well now with little junk food since I'm nursing, so I don't feel like I have a lot to cut out. However, there are a couple things and I hope its enough, so that I am reminded daily, several times daily to, pray, converse and be challenged.
1. Chocolate: this includes chocolates, choco cake, choc chip cookies, etc.
2. Juice: like I said I eat little junk food, and don't drink pop, etc. So, will cut out my fruit drinks, pineapple juick, mixed fruit, OJ, not even chocolate milk.
Altho this Feb I am really distracted by watching the Olympics, cutting that out or reducing my watching might help too :)
I will keep you posted on how this Lent season affects my spiritual walk with Jesus and subsequently many aspects of my life. Hold me to it if you don't see the posts!!

I did the chocolate thing for lent last year... I found myself in prayer **quite often** :D
The year before it was meat, which was an exceptionally interesting challenge, and leaded to a life style change in our eating habits (ever since).
This year? We've fasted and 'sacrificed' a many things over the past few months, and will continue to until Easter... At this point, taking more away may make me crack! lol!
I'm doing sugar for lent...that is tough!! But lent is all about discipline so I am relying on God a lot to get through! Keep truckin!
